crap. in making that list i forgot what else i wanted to remember...

So.... it's been awhile. I've been at work for 6 months now. My boss gave me my eval today. She recommended "continued employment". YES! :o)

i applied for a permanent posistion (mine was previously a long term-non permanent) back in December (?) and i got that. it's no different than what i was hired to do. they didn't rehire for my job and now my previous posistion doesn't exist.

Work took me to Dillingham in March, and I'll go to Soldotna in two weeks. I'll be going to the lower 48 somewhere (Billings isn't a definate anymore, family) later this summer, and eventually in the fall-ish I'll get to go to Juneau and back up to Fairbanks. I enjoy it.

I'm going to be in MD from June 19th to July 9th for a friend's wedding and a some R&R. Very excited.

Melly are cat is certifibly insane. she doesn't like anybody. she gets along with the other cat now, but now with any other humans. it's a pain in the butt.

i'm watching the country bears on the disney channel. Queen Latifah's in it. and apparently they make giant bear sized pay phones.

i'm sleepy. i love you all.

i got a job! i start on monday! i'll be a grants administrator I for the state of alaska's department of homeland security & emergency management! i'll work on ft. richardson! i may get to travel! i'll get Jaedon & i insurance! hooray!

three month anniversary & birthday have come & gone. both were nice. Mairi & Jiggly came down the weekend after my birthday & that was exciting. Jaedon got me tickets to see Joseph & the Technicolor Dreamcoat in december. less than one month to go! i love Joseph so much. when i found out it was coming here before we left Fairbanks, i thought "at least there's one good thing about moving to anchorage."

Melly is doing OK. she's very aggressive to Stacie & her cat, which is not good & hard to deal with. we keep Cai & her seperated, but it doesn't help with her being mean to Stacie. I feel really bad about it. Jaedon & i have talked about getting her a new home, since it's really unfair to Stacie. Jaedon really likes Melly though & doesn't want to do that though.

I interviewed for a state job awhile ago & when i called to thank them & ask if they had made a decision, they said they hadn't heard back from juneau yet, but that i should apply for these two other positions they just posted b/c "whether or not" i got this job, i would most likely get one of these new jobs b/c i "know how to follow directions." so i got the letter in the mail that i didn't get that job. i applied for the others & had got an interview for only one of them last week & they said they hope to have a decision or call for a second interview by this friday. i can't really tell if i'm going to get the job or not. i really hope i do & it would stink if i didn't since the guy kind of said i would, but we'll see. it's working with grants & that's a field i really want to get in to.

that's about all the job searching i've done lately...

we're having thanksgiving with the Avey's on thursday. we're bringing a ham (which cost $28 if you're reading this, Mom. the one that the coupon was for was about $70, so i didn't get it,) a mushroom & potato au gratin, & a green bean casserole.

Jaedon is swamped with end of semester school work & i hope that he is coping well with it. he's always at the school library so i don't see him that much & when i do, he's working on stuff. i try not to bother him, i don't know if it's working that well though.

i took my car to get my snow tires & my oil changed about two weeks ago. a couple of years ago, Mrs. Avey had gone to get her oil changed & then later smelled something funny. they opened the hood & found an oil jug left in there & it was beginning to melt. ever since this hearing this story it makes me think i should check after i get my oil changed, but i never do. this weekend though, i had to fix my stupid, stupid turn signal that always acts up & when i opened the hood, i heard a clank. when i got my oil changed, i also asked them to check my air filter, since i know it's been awhile. i guess in order to do this, they had to unscrew a support bar, which they then forgot to re-screw. nothing major i don't think, but still bad. i hope that they have the bolts & didn't have them sitting under the hood b/c they're no where to be found. i have to go back up there today i suppose & have them fix that.\

i can't find my watch & this makes me very sad. i don't know if it's in the apartment or i lost it somewhere else.

spilled coffee on the bed today. it went through our expensive mattress pad that is supposed to stop stains or something. i got the spots out of the mattress though. don't know what to think about it since it's supposed to be some magical mattress pad or something that they sold us when we bought the mattress.

which reminds me, i should probably switch the laundry now, so i guess i'll stop here.

since my last post, some crazy stuff happened & i'll just flat-out say it, since i don't know how to say it nicely. that beautiful mom in the kitten pictures ate all of those adorable kittens. yes, ate. cats do this sometimes. the owners were in the process of moving & the mom wasn't even a year old, so these could be reasons she did it, stress, lack of nurturing skills, etc. Jaedon & i weren't sad about it though. you can't really be sad at nature doing it's nature thing.

we ended up going to the shelter & getting a cute little kitten named Melly two weeks ago though. she's wonderful.

still haven't found a job, but granted, still not looking very hard.

it rains a lot here in anchorage & then stays wet. i don't like it b/c all my pants are just that little bit too long.

i stay at home & sit with the cat in our room most of the day. she has to stay there till she gets all of her shots. we watch a lot of cbs.

today is Jaedon & i's two month wedding anniversary. i told him that since he gets his pfd today that means we can got to a *sit down* pizza restaurant to celebrate. :o)

yesterday, after Jaedon's sister called we went & saw some kittens that a friend of their's cat had just had that morning. Jaedon & now think we have seen our new baby. :o)











aren't they wonderful? we think so. we'd like a little white one.

still getting settled here, haven't been able to get myself motivated to work hard on getting a job. it stinks.
